Korea Rail Introduces Rail+ Parcel Service for Affordable Delivery at Train Stations Nationwide

Korail Launches Rail+ Parcel Service to Enhance Convenience at 12 Key Stations

SEOUL, South Korea – Korea Railroad Corporation (Korail) announced on July 1, 2025, the introduction of the ‘Rail+ Parcel Service,’ a cost-effective and convenient parcel delivery solution available at train stations across the country. This innovative service utilizes unmanned parcel lockers installed within stations, allowing passengers to send packages effortlessly before boarding or disembarking.

Affordable and Accessible Logistics

Priced at approximately half the cost of standard courier services, Rail+ aims to save busy commuters time while leveraging Korea’s extensive rail network. The initial rollout targets 12 stations, including eight KTX stations—Yongsan, Cheongnyangni, Daejeon, Dongdaegu, Busan, Jeonju, Yeosu EXPO, and Gangneung—and four Seoul subway stations—Sindorim, Gasan Digital, Noryangjin, and Huigyeong. Selected operators will install compact lockers (within 2㎡) to manage the service.

Business Opportunity and Engagement

Korail is inviting companies to bid for operation rights, with a business proposal meeting scheduled for July 9, 2025, at 3:30 PM at Yongsan Station. Open to all, the session will detail the service overview and application process. Proposals will be accepted from July 17 to 18, with further details available on the Korail website.

Vision for a Multi-Service Hub

Korail President Han Moon-hee stated, “Following baggage storage and delivery services, the addition of parcel services optimizes station space usage. We are committed to transforming rail stations into comprehensive convenience hubs that enhance daily life.”

This initiative positions Korail as a leader in integrated transportation and logistics, setting a global benchmark for rail-based services.
